It all started when...
As a freshman, I awkwardly walked into a rundown Agricultural Education Building at Guthrie High School in Guthrie, Oklahoma. That accidental placement in Agricultural Education and FFA changed it all. Literally.
Because of that ag building, my teachers (Mr. Smtih, Mrs. Smith and Mr. Brooks), and FFA leadership experiences, I discovered what I was meant to do based on my natural gifting of capturing the attention of an audience, big or small, and spurring them to take action in their lives.
So that's what I do now. I speak and facilitate leadership and development for young leaders, collegiate leaders and corporate employees and management.
I haven't always done this exclusively. (Although I've spoken and facilitated for over 10 years now). Right out of Texas Tech University (Wreck 'Em!), I managed a multimillion dollar sales territory in central Iowa selling seed and crop protection. I was top talent at my company and had some pretty incredible experiences from kicking the dirt (ok, soil :-) with farmers to fancy awards dinners in Basel, Switzerland. I sold advertising in high rise buildings as well. Gave the ad world up to go graduate school. I also taught high school Agricultural Education to inner city students in Des Moines, Iowa.
My toughest, most challenging role to date has been the role of "mommy". I have a beautiful toddler, Audrie and an infant, Ella. My husband, Kevin, and I live in Durant, Oklahoma with our dogs Wrigley and Willow.
